Nelly goes all modern-day
retro-psych, or whatever they are calling it these days.
First GHP giveaway of the year and a bit noisy to say the
least. I believe Mooney Suzuki are re-releasing their 'Alive
& Amplified' single from last September on Monday, so
it's kinda timely.
Nelly's '#1'seemed to fit quite easily over this so: 'Alive
& Nellified' is the result. Had to re-create the
Mooney verses coz there aint no instrumental innit....trainspotters
may also notice some Mansun, Outkast, Doors and Alicia Keys
somewhere in there too...

.Strictly Rockers: Doing their
stuff in Shoreditch / London 21st Jan
Another excuse for myself
and Tone396
to re-
string the guitars and whack out a few noisy
mash-ups and remixes.
The first Strictly Rockers set went down pretty well
at Bastard last year, I'm sure you can expect some more of the
same.
'the Premix' takes place at The Spread Eagle, 3 Kingsland Road,
Shoreditch, London E2 8AA.
All kicks off around 9pm. Expect some greatness from Matt Catt
and Superdan who are spinning whatever they are into and you
can find more details about the club / night at www.legsand.co.uk www.mattcatt.com
.29/12/2004 .Wired magazine
article: More press from the USA
A
nice little write-up appears in this months (January) issue
of Wired
Magazine in the USA.
Wired mag is pretty much a tech publication but they found
what I do to be of interest...
You can read the 'Mash-ups go mainstream' article online here...no
apologies for looking exceedingly 'dandy' in the pic. Carnaby
St threads are all the rage you know...shame you couldn't
see the converse trainers.
There was also a radio ad produced for the magazine article
that was aired all over CBS.
You can download the 'Mash-up madness' mp3 here.
The recent GHP article in Sound On Sound is
now online in the 'press' section.
.28/12/2004 .GHPblogged:
(Almost) full expose on Chicane.
Inevitable
I suppose. I tried one ages ago but
left it drowning somewhere in cyberspace after losing patience
with the idea.
Anyway here's the link: http://gohomeproductions.blogspot.com/
It's also linked up on the menu block.
Stuff that doesn't quite belong here will probably appear
over there. First post is a
detailed history of Chicane seeing as quite a few of
you have asked me recently...
Lots of press cuttings
and mp3's of radio shows and Chicane's four singles, available for
the first time. The 'shoegazing' / 'scene that celebrates itself'
revival begins in earnest........
