Go Home Productions 'Danger Global Warming Project'
Remix:
GHP's
'Danger Global Warming Project' Remix featuring (ex- Strangler
frontman) Hugh Cornwell, is now online to hear. Instead of going for a 'club'
remix, I stripped the song back to Hugh's vox
and injected a rock / psych feel into the track: backwards guitars
/ 12 string / sitar / mellotron/ phasing / brass / birdsong
etc. Blacksmoke (the organisers and Hugh himself were
very pleased with the results, thank God.LISTEN

Re:Mixology set by the wonderful WFMU. I was in esteemed company.
Steinski (a hero of mine and massive influence) also did one.
I think this mix still hangs together quite well, hasn't aged
too badly.
Lots of hints as to what lies in the GHP record collection rather
than what works well with what.
That Shangri-La's track still makes me weep...honestly, bucketloads.
Don't you just love it when pop music actually affects
you?
Nothing in music since Mansun split has really affected me.
I'm rambling again...

time that 'Rock In Black' made an appearance and boy did it
make an impression. Email influx..can I have etc. I still
get asked for it.
By lots of German types.
Probably down to the fact that it was given a bloody good
airing by Chris Coco on Robbie Williams european tour dates
that year.
I bet this was the first time that Pere Ubu was played on
XFM too.Oh how controversial of me.
In fact the bigger shock was probably getting 10cc's 'I'm

Had never really indulged in
Family Guy until I went to Austria last year, so I had to
drop in a bit of 'ding fries' which my nieces and nephew annoyed
me with for weeks on end, after I first played it to them.
Went out and bought all the DVD's too.
Sucker.
Anyway, hope you find something within

CD's 13-16 of the GHP Complete series are now available for

promo mixes for live work etc. I'll get those compiled and available

Mark Vidler invites you to The Trypshop: A Psychedelic
Podcast I've
been threatening to do this for years and now seems the right time. The Trypshopis my
weekly Psychedelic Podcast. The
show is an hours worth of prime UK / US / World psychedelia, taking
in all genres:
Freakbeat, Pop-Sike, Garage Punk, Bubblegum, Freak-Out, Soundtrack
and all points inbetween from the late sixties to the eighties (revival)
and beyond.
The first show is now online and features tracks by The Craig,
The Creation, The Jelly Bean Bandits, The Tickle,
The Pretty Things, The Chesterfield Kings and many more. The featured artist of the week is
The Seeds. I do
my best to keep the whole thing flowing with 'between-song banter',
both informative and inane in equal measures... I guess
the best way to listen is with a fine vintage, smoke, sugarcube and
the lights turned way down. Over
the coming weeks there'll be 'themed' shows, starting with a Halloween
freakout next week.

Hear GHP vs Dylan 'Rolling Times' on GHP Myspace
Well,
I've had enough enquiries about it since mentioning I was commissioned
to do a remix for Mr Dylan, during the first half of this year.
I believe it was part of a project for his Anniversary box set
CD thing.
Alas this track wasn't chosen for inclusion and Mark Ronson's
remix was but never the less I've slipped it out for you to
'lend your ears' to.
I think they wanted a 'm*sh-up' from me...I would have preferred
to do a remix but the result is somewhere between the two.
The 2 tracks
used were 'Like A Rolling Stone' and
The
Times They Are A Changin'.
My
intention was to give Dylan some psychedelics fused with an
electro throb or suchlike, so I whipped out the Fender Tele
and threw random shapes all over it, backwards bits etc, aiming
for a 'revolver never knows' feel...
Anyway
give 'Rolling Times' a listen over at GHP's
Myspace page and don't tell his record company that I sent
you...
A
GHP tribute for composer Ronnie Hazlehurst /
BBC Radio 4 Those
of you who listen to BBC Radio 4's 'Broadcasting House' programme
on Sunday
mornings, may have been rudely awakened by the sound of the 'Some
Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em' and 'Are You Being Served?' theme tunes, twisted
up in a dub reggae melting pot, yesterday morning at 10am.
I was approached by the programme to 'do something' with a selection
of theme tunes composed by Ronnie Hazlehurst who sadly passed away
last week.
Being a massive fan of his and others TV theme tunes, I happily obliged.
The resulting 'Some Mothers Being Served' piece was aired at the end
of the show.
You can
hear it online at this Radio 4 link for the next 6 days.
Click the 'Listen' link and scan 59mins into the show.

21/09/2007 GHP Complete: CD's 1-12 now available:
As
promised the entire Go Home Productions back catalogue is (almostup) today. Time restrictions
have meant that CD's 13-16 will have to wait a bit.
Regardless, all the bootlegs are here from 2002-2007, the unofficial
remixes and a stash of unreleased / unheard stuff.
All mp3's are fully tagged for iPod with original sleeve artwork embedded
for each track.
Full size CD artwork as shown below is included with each download.
There should be something here for everyone. All tastes covered and
suitably fucked with.
Whether you joined the party 3 weeks ago or 5 years ago, there should
be enough to swallow...
These CD's are chronological too, so you can hear the (innocent start,
creative flourishes, doing-it-for-a-day-job era, drunken era, I've-had-enough
era,
pull-yourself-together era, DJing-to-20,000 / trashing-hotels etc)
as it happened.

All tracks 2007.
'Mashed' was finally released early 2007 and this was a pretty crazy
time. Live radio with 5 Live, Radio 4, the lovely Phill Jupitus /
Phil Wilding on 6 Music, press, gigs, all great but only half the
story really.
I suppose these are the last 'bootlegs' for a bit, while I concentrate
on the next phase.
So, the last track here is quite apt.
'Good Luck Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You' ends with a sample from my favourite
band. The band that inspired me to get involved in music in the first
place.
Cheers Andy, Colin, Dave, Terry & Barry.

Unofficial remixes then. The ones made
to include in DJ sets and infiltrate club culture...
There'll be a few across these 2 CD's that are unheard unless you
've witnessed a GHP set.
The 'Vines' one still goes down well and won a 'remix of the year'
thing at GYBO ages ago.
The 'Blur' track is 'spot the sample' time.
'Stonebridge' remix was comissioned by Hed Kandi after the guys
picked up 'Jacko Under Pressure' on vinyl from HMV.
My own guitar playing is all over the 'Screamadelica' track. Not
sampled at all.
Yes it's natural feedback. I lay out in front of the monitors creating
squeals to piss off my neighbours...

More remixes then. The
Stooges track was part of an XFM Superchunk for Eddy in 2005.
The XTC remixes are unheard as is The Doors remix, Aha (aha???)
and Babylon Zoo (babylon zoo ???)
The LCD Soundsystem 'Us vs Them' got me a nice Pitchfork write-up.
The Primal Scream track was pretty cool.

Rarities and unreleased eh?
Some of these may have 'leaked out' over the years but for the most
part they are unheard.
'New Digital Star' would have made a much better Sky Sports intro
than that Moloko 'Time Is Now' tosh ha ha but alas it was denied.
Same with the Fox Sports effort.
The Disney demo is shoddy but makes me laugh that they even approached
me.
So, it's wrapped up with some clips from the radio back when GHP
first started in 2002.
Moyles sounds younger, Eddy & James were great, Zane Lowe (ha
ha) and Iain Baker (many thanks).
